San Leandro is Now in Chinook Book!

On September 1, the 2017 edition of Chinook Book was released. Chinook Book is a coupon catalog designed to enhance local economic growth and expand the marketplace for sustainable products and services.  Since 1999, Chinook Book has been a successful tool for school fundraising, and has distributed over 250 million green and local coupons.  In 2015 Chinook Book also updated its comprehensive mobile app version, launched in 2010, which provides greater flexibility and better convenience for shoppers.

For the first time, Chinook Book includes coupons to San Leandro businesses, including Bluebird Pizzeria, Zocalo Coffeehouse, Estudillo Produce & Deli, Evergreen Nursery, Teach Bar, Square One Yoga, Mike’s Feed & Pets, Dutton Hardware, Tea Room Chocolate, Health Unlimited, Thrift Town, and House Kombucha. There are also coupons redeemable at the Downtown Farmers’ Market, Safeway stores, ACE Hardware, and Orchard Supply Hardware. The book also offers an impressive amount of manufacturer’s coupons redeemable wherever the product is sold, as well as a significant variety of coupons to local business throughout the East Bay, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley.

Chinook Book will be hosting a table at the Downtown Farmers’ Market on Wednesday, September 14th where staff will have print books available for purchase, and can provide additional information about the program.

Be on the lookout for the $20 print books at participating locations, or download the mobile app HERE. The app can be downloaded for free, allowing consumers to browse offers, but in order to redeem coupons the app must be purchased for $15.  Below is a video that demonstrates the ease of redeeming coupons using the mobile app.
