2016 Book of Lists: San Leandro In Context
Each December, the San Francisco Business Times issues its Book of Lists — a comprehensive catalog of the most successful and influential companies in the Bay Area. These lists are compiled from the weekly publications of the previous year and is one of the most extensive, data-rich, and widely circulated business resources in the Bay Area. The 2016 Book of Lists provides a vivid snapshot of San Leandro’s position in the Greater Bay Area business community.
The lists vary in size from 25 to 100 businesses, depending on the categories, of which there are 176. This year, 16 San Leandro businesses are represented in 15 categories:
- 2700-2800 Merced Street – 12th among the largest Bay Area office leases.
- Sausal Corporation ranked 58th among Greater Bay Area commercial contractors.
- St. Francis Electric, Inc. ranked 9th among the largest electrical contractors in the Bay Area.
- Brayer Electric Company ranked 15th among the largest electrical contractors in the Bay Area.
- The Gate ranked 15th among largest incubators and accelerators.
- MID Labs, Inc. was the 79th largest Bay Area venture capital recipient.
- TriNet Group, Inc. ranked 54th among the largest Bay Area public companies.
- OSISoft, LLC was the 43rd largest Bay Area private company, as well as the 12th largest family-owned business.
- 21st Amendment Brewery was the 6th largest brewery in the Greater Bay Area, and ranked 20th among Bay Area food and beverage manufacturers.
- Drake’s Brewing Company was the 8th largest brewery in the Greater Bay Area.
- Ghirardelli Chocolate Company ranked 8th among manufacturing firms in the Bay Area.
- American Packaging was the 23rd largest Bay Area women-owned business.
- The Regional Center of the East Bay, Inc. ranked 4th largest nonprofit organizations in the Bay Area.
- The San Leandro Chamber of Commerce ranked 25th largest Bay Area Chambers of Commerce.
- Royal Ambulance, Inc. was the 12th best mid-size business for which to work in the Bay Area.
This rather impressive roster goes to show that San Leandro continues to establish itself as a leading member of the Bay Area business community. Congratulations to all of the San Leandro businesses who made this year’s Book of Lists!
