San Leandro Business AVEVA to Speak at East Bay Global Forum

The East Bay Economic Development Alliance is excited to host the East Bay Global Forum from 1PM until 5:30PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025 – an event highlighting the region’s international partnerships, collaboration, and innovation.

The event will feature conversations with local international leaders, business representatives, and trade officials. Honored guests will include Consul Generals from our region’s largest trading partners. This event is presented by Sutter Health. This is a ticketed event taking place at the DoubleTree Hotel in Berkeley, CA.

Among the speakers is Megan Lehtonen, Sr. Director of Business Affairs and Strategic Initiatives at San Leandro-based AVEVA, the UK-based production company that purchased San Leandro legacy company OSIsoft in March of 2021.

Founded over 40 years ago by the late Dr. Patrick Kennedy, OSIsoft was a manufacturer of application software for real-time data management, called the PI System – now a part of AVEVA’s product line. OSIsoft’s successful expansion has played a pivotal role in global data sharing and the evolution of the East Bay’s high-tech sector. Lehtonen will join the Industry and Investment panel, alongside Dr. Seth Sanders, Co-Founder and Chief Scientist of Amber Kinetics, Heike Abeck, Sr. Director, BioPartnering and Development Program Lead of Bayer, and Sam Fahmy, President and CEO of Ripcord. The panel moderator will be Darlene Chiu Bryant, Executive Director of GlobalSF.
