On March 19th, 2026, Philz Coffee officially opened its doors in Centro Callan with a well-attended ribbon-cutting ceremony that brought together community members, local stakeholders, and civic leaders. Guests were invited to experience the new café firsthand, enjoying handcrafted coffee while exploring the thoughtfully designed space.

Mayor Juan González delivered welcoming remarks at the event and, along with representatives of County Supervisor Tam and State Representative Greyson, presented certificates of recognition, highlighting the importance of Philz Coffee’s investment in the community and its role in strengthening the local economy.

Philz Coffee’s new location reflects a strong sense of place, featuring a bright and welcoming interior, comfortable seating, and community-oriented gathering spaces. Custom mural artwork incorporated throughout the café celebrates the unique character and cultural identity of San Leandro, with cherries, dahlias, stock cars, and other features of San Leandro’s history and present. San Leandro’s location also holds the unique distinction of being located closest to Philz Coffee’s roasting plant.
