2026 New Restaurant Preview

San Leandro’s 2026 dining landscape is serving up plenty to look forward to so far. From beloved local favorites expanding their footprint to fresh new concepts moving in, the city’s food scene is gearing up for a delicious year.

As Kneaded Bakery, known for its artisan breads and pastries is expanding to As Kneaded Café, slated to open in February inside the San Leandro Main Library’s café space at 300 Estudillo Ave. Expect the same handcrafted quality: sandwiches, salads, pastries, etc.—now with a cozy café experience to match.

Meanwhile, TOGO’s Sandwiches has officially settled into its new home. After leaving its Westgate location, the shop has reopened in Marina Square and is already open for business.
Fans of Mediterranean flavors have something to watch closely: Lavanta Mediterranean is preparing to take over the former Moussaka space on Dutton Ave. Specific details are still under wraps, but expect whole red snapper, rabbit, cornish hen, goat, and more on the menu!

Downtown is buzzing too, with the hotly anticipated Philz Coffee coffee coming soon to the Centro Callan mixed-use building on E. 14th—another sign that the Downtown area is becoming a true hub for local food and drink.

In the Greenhouse Marketplace, Truewin Tea Shoppe (699 Lewelling Blvd. #112) is gearing up to open its second Bay Area location. Tea lovers can look forward to an extensive menu of teas and boba drinks, plus their standout item: Soufflé Pancake Sandwiches.
Next door in Suite #114, Tang Bar will bring a Szechuan/Sichuan twist to the neighborhood with a Build Your Own Hot Pot concept. Tang Bar combines traditional malatang’s flavor with local fresh ingredients, resulting in a healthy, fresh and dainty dining experience.

With these openings on the horizon, 2026 is looking bright for the restaurant scene. Whether you’re into bold flavors, cozy cafés, or refreshing drinks, there’s something new coming your way.
